Fudge is one treat almost everyone likes. You can customize to your favorite flavors- I like to throw in marshmellows and toasted pecans. Some like peanut butter chips.
Start with 3 cups of nice chocolate chips and a 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk. Melt in a double boiler or a good quality pan on low heat. Keep an eye and stir often. Once melted, add 1/4 cup butter, 2 tsp vanilla and a dash of salt. Stir real well and pour into a prepared 8×8 pan.
To prepare the pan- either butter liberally or put foil/waxed paper across the bottom and butter that. Spread out the fudge, top with nuts or chips or marshmellows- and cover. Chill overnight. Remove to a cutting board and cut into 1 inch squares. Keep in an air tight container until you serve. Good luck having leftovers.
